EUGENE, Ore. (AP) Police used a flash-bang grenade in a Eugene parking lot to disorient a suspected gang leader they believe was about to commit a bank robbery.
The 34-year-old man, Beau Heleman Flynn, was wearing a bulletproof vest Thursday when he was arrested
Sgt. Scott McKee told The Register-Guard (http://is.gd/6KYKtO ) police moved in when they found him lingering near a bank and took extra precautions because of his record of gang-related violence.
Flynn had been released from prison in September after a three-year sentence for being a felon in possession of a gun and body armor. He was ordered to stay out of Lane County.
He's held in the Lane County Jail for parole violation and being a felon in possession of body armor.
