KGW Meteorologist Nick Allard said the average high is 56 degrees.

The record high is 68 for this date. The National Weather Service says a cool air mass will move over the Northwest Wednesday, and the snow level in the Cascades will drop to 2,500 feet by Thursday. There should be relatively clear skies overnight.

On Sunday, temperatures hit record highs in parts of Oregon. The thermometer hit 74 in Eugene, breaking the old record for the date of 71 set in 1975. And, it was 73 in Salem, breaking the record of 68 set in 2010.

The next round of rain will move in around 5 p.m. Tuesday for a wet evening drive, Allard said. By Friday there could be hail, possibly some thunderstorms and snow below pass level, Allard said.
