Kyron Horman was 7 years old when he disappeared from Skyline Elementary in June 2010.

His father, Kaine Horman, and other family members marked the boy s birthday at Cause Day in Sublimity, Oregon.

The family is hoping to broaden awareness outside the Portland area. They set up a booth, passing out T-shirts and buttons with Kyron's most recent age-progression photo (pictured, right).

Lots of people want to help and they just don t know how, Kaine Horman said Sunday. This is a way: They can take something with them; even if it just has his name on it, it s enough to connect and start a discussion.

He said the investigation remains very active.

The boy s mother has filed a civil lawsuit against his stepmother, Terri Horman, who was the last person known to have seen him.
