PORTLAND - More than 6,000 people in Multnomah County were still without power early Saturday morning after intense storms rolled through the area Friday night. But Portland General Electric reported at 10:40 a.m. only 66 customers were still waiting for their power to be restored.
Most of the outages were reported east of Interstate 205, in Portland and Gresham.
One man was struck by lightning in Forest Park Friday afternoon, but there were no other reports of injuries during the hail and thunder storms.
A Northeast Portland house was also struck by lightning. Damage was mostly contained in the attic and was estimated at $30,000.
By Saturday morning the storms had cleared and the weather was expected to remain calm throughout the weekend.
