GRESHAM, Ore Gresham police have launched a new webpage focused on identifying criminal suspects, witnesses and persons of interest, and they hope the public will use it.

The Can You ID me page on the Gresham police department website contains video surveillance photos of people police would like to question.

In this day, with the prevalence of video surveillance, we often have images of persons we cannot identify, said Gresham police spokesman Lt. Claudio Grandjean.

On the site, clicking on a photo opens up a form for users to fill out. That information is then forwarded to officers or detectives working on that case. The information can be submitted anonymously, Grandjean said.

Police said that if a person is identified, it doesn t mean they are going to be arrested.

We still need to do investigative work to corroborate the information we're receiving, said Sgt. Manny Hernandez, investigations section supervisor. This is just a way for us to narrow the focus of an investigation.
