PORTLAND -- A man in Washington County mistakenly called 911 to ask where he could buy some marijuana earlier this month (hear audio below).

After the dispatcher pointed out the mistake, the man asked again, saying it's a legitimate question.

We were no help to him in that regard, said Washington County Sheriff's Office spokesman Mark Chandler. However we did send Hillsboro Police to conduct a welfare check.

WCSO started releasing monthly You Called 911 for That? audio clips to highlight that 911 should only be used in emergencies.
