OREGON CITY, Ore -- Weekend closures are planned on Interstate 205 for the next two weekends, an Oregon Department of Transportation official said.

Interstate 205 in Clackamas County will be closed in one direction for each of the weekends as crews install a new overpass, said ODOTspokesman Don Hamilton.

The northbound lanes will now be closed between exits 13 and 14 from 11 p.m. Friday Jan. 17 until 7 a.m. Saturday Jan. 18., then again at 11 p.m. that Saturday evening until 7 a.m. Sunday Jan. 19.

Traffic will be detoured onto Southeast 82nd Avenue and return to I-205 at the Sunnyside Interchange at exit 14, ODOT said.

According to ODOT, southbound lanes will be closed between exit 13 and 14 from 11 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24 until 7 a.m. Saturday Jan. 25, and again that Saturday evening from 11 p.m. until Sun. Jan. 26. Traffic will be detoured onto Southeast 82nd Avenue.

The new overpass is part of the Sunrise Jobs and Transportation Act Project that will build a new two-lane highway from Interstate 205 to Southeast 122nd Avenue.

The closures were originally scheduled to start last weekend, but were rescheduled due to high winds.
