PORTLAND -- A man suffered traumatic injuries after being struck by car about 12:45 a.m. Sunday at 122nd and East Burnside Street, said Sgt. Pete Simpson.

Arriving officers found the 29-year-old and started first-aid. The man was taken to a hospital and was expected to survive.

The 23-year-old driver of the 2000 Honda Civic remained at the scene and cooperated with police. She was not impaired in any way, Simpson said.

She was eastbound on Burnside and had the green light to continue across 122nd when the pedestrian stepped off a MAX platform and into the lane of traffic, Simpson said.
