SALEM, Ore. (AP) -- Oregon State Police say a 74-year-old woman fatally struck on a highway west of Salem may have been looking in the dark for a lost cellphone.
The police identified her Wednesday as Sarah Lou Muller.
They said she was using a walker to cross Highway 51 in front of the driveway to her home about 6:20 p.m. Tuesday. Investigators say there was no street light.
The police said she was hit by an SUV driven by 21-year-old Angelica Herrera-Clark of Gervais. No citations have been issued.
