PORTLAND -- A team of volunteers searched for Kyron Horman Saturday near Northwest Germantown Road and Northwest Skyline Boulevard.
Horman s mother, Desiree Young, said the effort would include a team of K-9 units. Young also told KGW that she will speak to the media once the search has ended.
Horman has been missing since June 4, 2010. He was last seen at his school, Skyline Elementary, and was taken to class that day by his stepmother, Terri Horman. Kyron was seven years old at the time of his disappearance.

State and local police, along with the FBI, have searched repeatedly for him without success, and to date, no one has been charged in his disappearance.
On a Facebook page devoted to the boy, his supporters addressed the volunteers who will be searching, writing, Please take a moment and light a candle or two for Kyron & his family. [Saturday] starts a weekend of searching for answers, for sweet Kyron Horman. He deserves to be home and his family deserves to have him home and get the answers they need and want.
The Multnomah County Sheriff s Office told Newschannel 8 that it was aware of the search, and that they hope the volunteers find something that helps to bring Kyron home. They also said that their investigation is ongoing.
