The victim's wife, Cindy Castillo, said she hopes the man responsible is punished to the fullest extent of the law.

Bryan Carl Onderdonk, 28, of Tigard, was jailed for felony hit-and-run.

I know he s a young man, she said of the suspect, but my husband had so much to live for. My husband was such an honest, kind man. This is such a tragic loss of life.

She said she and her husband had limitless plans for the future. They planned to spend as much time as possible with their 4-year-old grandson.

He loved Grandpa so much and Grandpa would play with him, teach him how to do pushups, lift him up in the trees, and he d say Higher Grandpa, higher, she remembered. He kept asking me, Grandma are you okay? I said No, Grandma s very sad. Grandpa s not coming home anymore.
