PORTLAND - Portland Saturday Market vendors are hoping the Festival of the Last Minute bumps up some sales this weekend.

The market gets most of its business from tourists -- but this timeof year is when many of the locals come out.

Most vendors here offer unusual or one-of-a-kind gifts. Vendors said lately, a lot of shoppers are not purchasing, and for those who are, they're not buying a whole lot.

At Christmas time, it s supposed to be our high time, that s when we make the most amounts of sales in the past, vendor Jan Carroll of Earthlights said. This year, that s not the case and so none of us were really prepared for that. I don t know if it s the weather, we don t know what it is. We just know, that for a lot of us, this is our income.

Saturday market is open every day from now until Christmas Eve.
