A YouTube video that appears to show a baby being lifted into the air by a swooping Golden Eagle is causing a stir on the Internet.

The video, uploaded December 18 to the video sharing website, was reportedly filmed in Montreal, Canada. (Warning: video contains brief profanity)

AnimalWire, citing YouTube user Cyatek, breaks the video down and points out multiple aspects of the video that call its realism into question.

There's also a lengthy discussion thread on REDDIT that draws attention to inconsistencies in the video.

True or false, one thing is sure. While the baby may or may not have been lifted into the air by a Golden Eagle, the video that purports to capture the event has certainly taken off. The original video, posted December 18, had received more than 2.7 million views in its first 24 hours on the world wide web.
