EUGENE, Ore. -- University of Oregon student athletes now face random drug testing.

It's a new, temporary policy that began this week.

Up until now, athletes were only tested if there was a reasonable suspicion of drug use.

U of O s athletic department proposed the change after a report in ESPN Magazine about alleged drug use on the Ducks football team.

The ESPN report cited unnamed sources described as current and former players who said up to 60 percent of the team smoked marijuana.
