PORTLAND -- A 16-year-old male was shot in the leg at a Southeast Portland park Saturday night, police said.

Just after 10:30, officers from Portland's East Precinct and Gang Enforcement Team responded to reports of shots fired at Raymond Park, in the 11800 block of SE Liebe Street.

They found the victim suffering from a single gunshot wound in his right leg, according to Sgt. Pete Simpson.

The victim was taken to an area hospital without life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was described as a black male teen wearing a red hat, Simpson said.

Another shooting happened several hours later in North Portland, but Simpson said there was likely no connection.

Gang Enforcement Team Detectives were investigating.
