PORTLAND -- Two Portland State University students reported Wednesday morning that a man with a gun threatened them on campus, officials said.

The students said they were confronted by a Middle Eastern male, age 18-22, driving in a white Range Rover and displaying a handgun, according to an alert from the PSU Campus Public Safety Office.

After the alert went out to students and faculty, Portland police Sgt. Pete Simpson reported there was no threat to the public.

There is no active incident or an active search. The alleged suspect knows the victim in this and it appears to be a personal issue, Simpson said. We will follow up on investigation but there is nothing more and no significant community concern.
