VANCOUVER -- The woman who allegedly shot a Vancouver Veterans Affairs worker twice in the chest this past February was deemed competent to stand trial Thursday.

Deborah Lennon, 46, was accused of shooting 45-year-old Allen Bricker after stalking him on February 5.

Lennon was charged with attempted murder.

On Thursday morning, she pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. Despite her plea, Lennon was deemed competent to stand trial.

Her trial date has been set for July 14.
