SALEM, Ore. -- The West Salem High School girls basketball coach accused of sexually abusing a player was in Polk County Circuit Court Tuesday to hear he now faces additional sex abuse charges.

The lawyer for 30-year-old Emrance Berger said he would hold off entering a plea. He's next due in court on Monday.

Berger was arrested February 11 after a girl told her parents about him. He remains free on bail.

The Statesman Journal reports Berger has been put on unpaid leave by the Salem-Keizer School District. He also works with the Department of Human Services and has been put on paid leave by the agency.
