PORTLAND -- Portland Fire and Rescue says firefighters were able to salvage the building that has housed the Dale Brothers barber shop for 40 years.

They encountered heavy fire in the second floor and attic Monday afternoon and cut holes in the roof to remove smoke and heat so that firefighters could get inside and douse the flames.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries.

Investigators say the fire was caused by an electrical problem. Damage estimated at $30,000.
