PORTLAND -- Nearly an inch of rain fell Sunday in the Portland area, bringing the monthly total of 4.91 inches well above the three-inch average for October, according to KGW meteorologist Nick Allard.
After a Monday that will be a bit more dry, another one to two inches could fall by Wednesday, bringing the total monthly rainfall to double the average.
The wettest October ever was 8.41 in 1997 and the driest .19 in 1988.
Up to four inches could fall in the Coast Range through mid-week, he said.
Yes, this means a rainy trick-or-treating evening for metro-area kids.
