PORTLAND -- Two people were killed and three people were injured in three Portland shootings reported between Saturday afternoon and early Sunday morning, police said.
Just after 5 p.m. a man was shot during a robbery in his home in the 5800 block of NE Portland Highway, Portland Police Lt. Robert King said. The two suspects were not apprehended. They were described as white men with medium builds.
A man and woman were shot to death just before 9:30 p.m. near SE 136th Avenue and SE Harold Street, King said. William Cole McCamman, 20, was arrested on two counts of first-degree murder.
A witness told KGW the victims were a mother and her son. He said a fight over a cell phone SIM card escalated into two shootings.
The gang team was investigating a shooting outside a NE Portland bar just after 2 a.m. Sunday. A 60-year-old woman was reportedly hit when suspects in two cars were shooting at each other. A man later walked into a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound.
Two people were also shot in St. Helens Saturday night, and the suspect was arrested when he crashed a stolen car while attempting to leave the scene.
