PORTLAND Portland Mayor Sam Adams released Friday a draft plan for the city to rejoin the Joint Terrorism Task Force.
The move toward reassessing Portland s role with the JTTF was spurred by the Pioneer Square Tree Lighting bomb plot.
Adams provided an online link <www.mayorsamadams.com/JTTF> to the plan and said comments could be submitted through next Friday.
Adams developed the draft plan with help from the city attorney s office and feedback from civil rights and law enforcement groups, according to Roy Kaufman, with the mayor s office.
The plan includes a background of the JTTF, as well as key questions that will need to be answered before Portland considers rejoining.
The final work plan was projected to be complete by Dec. 21. A public forum will be held in early January and a public hearing will be held if necessary on Feb. 24.
