BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Guests at a Comfort Inn motel at 13455 SW Tualatin Valley Highway were sent scurrying from their rooms after a fire broke out about 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The room with the flames was not occupied, said Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue Battalion Chief Jeff Cooper.

Someone at the motel pulled a building fire alarm and guests were already out when fire fighters arrived, he said.

Guests started going back to their rooms shortly after 6 a.m.
