PORTLAND Three dogs are missing after a fire destroyed a Northeast Portland home early Saturday morning, firefighters said.

Around 3:30 a.m., firefighters attacked the fire that engulfed an entire home at 10806 NE Prescott, said Gabriel Watson with Portland Fire & Rescue.

No one was injured in the fire but the missing dogs are believed to be dead in the home.

Crews spent almost 20 minutes battling the flames. Loaded weapons, extensive remodeling, false floors and several gas tanks made fighting the fire challenging, Watson said.

The fire was brought under control by 4 a.m. The man who lived inside and another dog were displaced but uninjured.
