PORTLAND -- The southbound lanes of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard were closed after a crash Tuesday afternoon involving a semi-truck and a streetcar.

The road was reopened around 5 p.m.

Police were called to the crash at Southeast MLK and Market Street at about 1 p.m. and had to divert traffic in the area while they investigated and cleared the crash, according to Portland police Sgt. Pete Simpson.

Buses were used to shuttle passenger while the streetcar was inoperable. There were no reports of injuries.

Simpson said commuters should use alternate routes.
