PORTLAND -- The pregnant owner of a small Portland jewelry store was robbed at knife point and then tied up Monday at around 7:45 p.m.
The owner of the Little Things jewelry store, which offers items from 60 local artists, was closing up shop at 1720 NW Lovejoy St. when a man walked in around 7 p.m. and shopped for half an hour.
He was like, 'OK, I'll just take a picture of it, but I know where you live' so it was frightening to know that he knows that, she said.
Andrea told him the man pulled out a knife, took a few necklaces and demanded all her cash. Then he tied her up and locked the door, throwing away the key. It took her 30 minutes to free herself.
She was crying on the phone and said, 'I've been robbed,' her husband Cory Angell explained. You don't hurt your local business. That's below low. If it were on any larger scale we would have had to shut down. But she loves this place, this won t deter her from wanting to come back.
The suspect was described as a white man in his late 20s, 5-foot-6, with a reddish-gray goatee. He was wearing a baseball cap.
