WOODLAND, Wash. -- A man was caught on surveillance video after he stole a woman's purse in a Woodland Walmart, and police asked for the public's help finding him.

Just before 1 p.m. on March 2, a man, woman and child in a two-door red sedan (pictured, left) arrived at the store, at 1486 Dike Access Road, according to Sgt. Robb Lipp of the Woodland Police Department.

Once inside, the man separated from the woman and child and stole the victim's purse from her shopping cart, Lipp said. When she noticed her purse was gone the victim followed the suspect, but he ran outside and threw the purse in his trunk. He also removed his jacket to change his appearance.

He then waited in the parking lot for the woman and child to get back in the car before driving away. Anyone with information was asked to call (360) 225-6965.
