DONALD, Ore. A masked man on a bicycle attacked and robbed a woman in Donald early Wednesday morning, police said.

The 27-year-old woman told investigators she was walking along Donald Road NE when the cyclist jumped her just after 6 a.m.

As she passed Huckleberry Lane NE, she saw a man riding by on a bicycle. After passing her, the man suddenly turned around and started attacking her, said officer Don Thomson with the Marion County Sheriff s Office. The man used a nearby piece of cement to hit her on the head before he stole her purse and cell phone.

The woman was able to get away and ran to a nearby house to call 911.

She described her attacker as standing about six feet tall and weighing around 170 pounds. He was wearing a black pull-down beanie mask with cutouts for his mouth and eyes, a camouflage hunting jacket with a hood, and steel-toed dark boots.

The victim said that her attacker had a raspy smoker's voice and was riding a silver BMX-type bicycle.

The woman was transported by ambulance to the Legacy Meridian Park Hospital in Tualatin for treatment of a scrape on her head and cuts to her hands, Thomson said. But her injuries did not appear to be serious.
