PORTLAND An armed robbery suspect was arrested Wednesday after he tried to carjack two drivers in Southwest Portland, police said.

Witnesses said the man armed with a gun held up the U.S. Bank on SW Terwilliger Boulevard and fled. The suspect then tried to carjack two different cars, before running away, according to police.

Arriving officers saw the suspect and were able to quickly get him into custody after a brief struggle. No one was hurt.

Daniel Arthur Carter, 31, was jailed on a U.S. Marshals hold with federal bank robbery charges pending.
