BEND, Ore. -- The trial of a man accused of killing his son in the Central Oregon town Tumalo is expected to go to the jury soon.

Closing arguments were scheduled for Thursday in the murder trial of 62-year-old Jim Hargrave, accused of shooting his 28-year-old son Steven in December.

The prosecution says Jim Hargrave killed him by shooting him in the chest. The defense says he fired in self-defense in the confrontation with his son, whose blood alcohol content was .38 percent.

If convicted, Jim Hargrave would face at least a 25-year sentence.
