GASTON, Ore. -- A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with an SUV in Gaston Saturday afternoon, police said.

The two vehicles collided on Laurelwood Road, near the base of Bald Peak, just after 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon, according to Ken Bilderback of the Gaston Rural Fire District.

The driver of the motorcycle, 50-year-old Troy Moody of Estacada, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 50-year-old female passenger in the SUVwas taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital without life-threatening injuries. The driver was not injured.

The road was closed in both directions for about two hours. Investigators said drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
