The victims had been dead for quite some time, Seaside Police Chief Robert Gross said. They were likely killed Thursday evening.

The preliminary investigation indicates the victims were longtime friends and he just recently moved to Seaside, Marquis said. Investigators believe the murder weapon was a baseball bat but the final determination will be made by the Oregon Medical Examiner s Office at the autopsy.

Foster was arrested at around 10 p.m. Friday when a Clatsop County deputy saw him driving on Highway 30 into Knappa, Gross said. He was taken into custody without incident and lodged in the Clatsop County Jail.

Police were still looking for a gold Toyota Camry with a temporary sticker. Anyone with information on the vehicle or on the case was asked to call the Seaside Police Department at (503) 738-6311.

The Clatsop County Grand Jury will consider charges next week. Foster will be arraigned in Astoria Monday afternoon.
