The Mariners are intersted in the nearly half century old, Jamie Moyer. That's according to a report from The crafty lefty underwent Tommy John surgery last December. And he's already throwing and appears to be healthy.

The soon to be 49-year-old wants to stay on the West Coast. He's currently living in San Diego. reports the Mariners, Rangers, Rockies, Royals, Pirates, and Orioles sent scouts to look at Moyer's workout. Moyer played for Seattle from 1996-2006. His foundation is still up in Seattle. So it's not far-fetched to believe he would throw for the Mariners again, if they're interested.

If Moyer pitches next season, he would be the oldest do so since 1972 when Hoyt Wilhelm pitched at the age of 49 for the Dodgers. Only Satchel Paige (1965 at age 59), Jack Quinn (1933 at age 50), and Wilhemthrew at an older age than Moyer, if he plays next year. Moyer is 36th all-time on the wins list and 37th on the strikeout list.
