PORTLAND The TriMet board Wednesday unanimously approved $700 million in bonds to build a light rail line from Portland to Milwaukie, including a new bridge over the Willamette River.
In separate resolutions, the board voted on:
$159 million of capital grant receipt revenue bonds for the Milwaukie light rail
$63 million of payroll tax revenue bonds for the Milwaukie light rail
$500 million in revenue bonds to provide interim financing for transit-related projects including financing the Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Project
Votes included plans to acquire property for the rail line.
A separate resolution authorized Kiewit construction company and HNTB Construction to begin preliminary design and engineering work on a bridge over the Willamette River.
