GOVERNMENT CAMP, Ore. --The father of a 23-year-old snowboarder who died in a snowboarding accident at Mt. Hood Meadows wants all snowboarders and skiers to be required to wear helmets.

I think there should be a mandatory helmet law, Joe Cryblskey told KGW. It may not have saved Kyle s life, but it may keep someone from going through what we are going through.

Kyle Cryblskey, of Vancouver, Washington died Saturday in a fall at the Rose City terrain park at Mt. Hood Meadows, an area with jumps and rails for experienced riders.

I can t say enough about the Mt. Hood Meadows ski patrol, said Debbie Cryblskey, Kyle s mother. They drove Kyle s car all the way here to Battleground. I don t think I could ve dealt with all that.

Cryblsky had come off a jump when he crashed. He was pronounced dead at the resort's clinic.

Cryblsky was not wearing a helmet, but medical examiners had not determined the exact cause of death.
