VANCOUVER -- A man hit by a car while crossing a Vancouver street with his walker has died, police said Wednesday.
On Oct. 28, Stephen D. Dewey, 65, of Vancouver, was using a walker to cross Southeast Mill Plain Boulevard near Southeast 105th Avenue when he was struck by a car. The driver sped away.
The incident occurred at approximately 7 p.m.
Dewey died from his injuries Tuesday, Vancouver police said.
No arrests have been made and police continue to investigate the hit-and-run.
Tim Kapp from the Vancouver Police said detectives have chased leads up eyewitness accounts have been inconsistent. The vehicle has been described simply as gray and possibly an import.
We're hoping that the driver will be compelled to come forward or that some people with information will come forward, Kapp said.
