Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones always seems to have an uncanny ability to amuse or stir up controversy with his words, as he did Tuesday on his weekly radio show on 105.3 FM The Fan.

Jones indicated he believes that Tony Romo s Hispanic heritage is a perfect fit for the Dallas Cowboys.

We couldn t have a better quarterback, he said. We just couldn't.

Jones added that he and former head coach Bill Parcells originally thought Romo was Italian.

Then we found out that his grandparents were from Mexico, Jones said. We couldn t have a better quarterback with a background of Hispanic for the Dallas Cowboys.

Tony Romo was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Cowboys in 2003.
