SALEM The family of the Salem man killed while climbing Mt. Hood last week will be holding a memorial service Friday.

Kinley Adams, 59, died from multiple injuries suffered in a fall while attempting to summit the mountain. His body was recovered Sunday evening.

A memorial will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the Salem First Baptist Church, at 395 Marion Street NE, his son Brock said Tuesday. Adams and his family were longtime members of the church.

The family suggested donations to Portland Mountain Rescue or the Boys & Girls Club of Salem in lieu of flowers.
