PORTLAND A man police have described as a habitual tagger behind many cases of graffiti vandalism in the Portland area was sentenced to one year in prison Friday.

Isaiah Joel Schwebke, 33, was recently arrested for tagging areas outside Portland, which also violated the provisions of his probation in a 2009 graffiti conviction.

Investigators said he s been a habitual tagger since 1996 and even has a personal moniker that has appeared on graffiti in Portland, Wilsonville and Tigard, according to Sgt. Pete Simpson with the Portland Police Bureau.

Over the last 15 years, Schwebke has been linked to graffiti incidents in Oregon, California, Washington State, Georgia and Alaska. His sentence includes one year in jail, extended probation, and $2,300 in restitution, Simpson said.
