NEWPORT, Ore. (AP) -- The Coast Guard says it has rescued two children who became trapped on rocks at Agate Beach on the Oregon Coast.

A helicopter crew hoisted the 10-year-old and 16-year-old from the rocks Friday after small boat crews and fire rescue teams were unable to reach them. They were delivered to rescuers waiting on the beach. No injuries were reported.

Coast Guard spokesman Shawn Eggert warns beach users that the unwary can quickly become stranded by incoming tides.
