SEATTLE - The Washington State Patrol says a container loaded with cows fell off a tractor-trailer and onto Interstate 90 Saturday, killing at least some of the animals.

Trooper Julie Judson said it was unclear how many of the cows died.

She said the tractor-trailer was heading eastbound on I-90 Saturday morning when its double-decker container full of about 30 cows tipped over on its side near south Seattle.

She said crews righted the container, with the cows inside. The container was moved to the shoulder, and arrangements were being made to move the animals.
