PORTLAND -- Officers arrested a man Thursday for felony hit-and-run after he allegedly hit a pedestrian last Monday evening in North Portland and then fled the scene, police said.

Juan Siquina, 37, was arrested at his home in the 8600 block of North Columbia Boulevard three days after 21-year-old Teairra Benjamin was hit and taken to the hospital, said Sgt. Pete Simpson with the Portland Police Bureau.

A witness had told police that a smaller, black SUV was westbound when it hit her, then left the scene.

Siquina was booked in the Multnomah county Jail and will be arraigned Friday.

Benjamin suffered head injuries in the accident and was taken to the hospital. She was listed in good condition Thursday, still recovering from her injuries, Simpson said.
