PORTLAND -- As we start July off with some showers and drizzle, we leave behind the second-wettest June on record.

Saturday evening rainfall gave us 4.08 inches for the month of June at Portland International Airport, said KGW Meteorologist Jim Donovan, which is 2nd place all-time on the June wet list!

Donovan said the wettest June on record at PDX was in 2010, when the total for the month was 4.27 inches.

There is good news on the horizon, he said: Not only does July 4th look dry, but Wednesday could kick-off a long stretch of dry, warm sunny days.
