PORTLAND City leaders want to ensure that Forest Park remains one of Portland s crown jewels.

That s why City Parks Commissioner Nick Fish has outlined a five-point plan aimed at taking better care of the 5,000 acre park - the largest of its kind in the country.

In recent years, invasive species and illegal bike trails have caused problems at Forest Park.

Now, the future plan will include a non-profit Forest Park conservancy. The city will also hire a full-time ranger.
