RIDGEFIELD Police said wanted fugitive Derral Kenny Mosby was shot and killed by authorities in a standoff in Northwest Ridgefield, Wash. Friday.

Just after 3 p.m., the Clark County Sheriff s Office and the SWAT team pinned down Mosby in a home near 19300 NE 29th Avenue.

Sheriff's deputies near the scene reported hearing possible gunfire around 4:30 p.m. as authorities surrounded the home. Life Flight confirmed it was called to pick up a patient near the scene but the emergency helicopter service said it was canceled just before 5 p.m.

The 36-year-old was wanted for meth possession, trafficking stolen property and violating a restraining order. Authorities said he often carried a knife and gun and was considered highly dangerous.

On March 6, police locked down a rest stop on Interstate 5 outside Ridgefield, Wash. after reports the 6-foot-8 fugitive was in the area. Police scoured the area but never found Mosby.

He was later spotted in the Knox Butte area near the Linn County Fairgrounds riding a bicycle. He reportedly was calling family members from the Albany and Salem, Ore. areas.
