PORTLAND The driver and a passenger involved in a fatal DUII crash Sunday morning have been arrested.

Gawayne Streeter, 28, ran his Pontiac Grand Prix into a utility pole in Northeast Portland Sunday around 6 a.m., according to Lt. Steve Alexander of the Multnomah County Sheriff s Office.

Paul Williams, 24, of Portland was killed in the crash. He was a passenger in the vehicle.

Streeter and three other passengers suffered injuries, but they were not life-threatening, Alexander said.

Streeter was arrested after he was released from the hospital. He faces DUII, manslaughter and assault charges, among others. He also had an outstanding warrant for cocaine possession, DUII, reckless driving and failure to perform the duties of a driver.

Another passenger, 27-year-old John Perry, was arrested after he was released from the hospital. Perry had an outstanding warrant for theft, escape and felon possession of a restricted weapon, among other charges.

Police believe another man who was also in the car when it crashed may have fled the scene. Anyone with information about the people involved in the crash was asked to call 503-251-2531.
