PORTLAND The Oregon Historical Society s Oregon History Museum will be exhibiting a collection of 48 works by influential master photographer Ansel Adams.

The exhibit titled Ansel Adams: Masterworks runs through April 15 and features a collection of photographs Adams considered his best. They are two-thirds of a selection he chose to represent his life s work.

Included in the exhibit are many of Adams most revered photographs he made over his five-decade career.

Adams profound influence as a technical master in the medium helped shape the course of photography. His elegant details of nature and breathtaking landscapes also helped mold the environmental movement.

The collection was organized by Turtle Bay Exploration Park in Redding, Calif.
