HILLSBORO, Ore. -- Police believe a Monday evening shooting in Hillsboro is gang-related.

A 24-year-old man walking down the 200 block of Northwest Adams Street about 8 p.m. got into an argument with two other men. One pulled a gun and shot him in the chest, police said.

The victim was taken to Legacy Emanuel hospital in Portland and was expected to recover.

The suspects fled on foot. A police tracking dog found the gun about a block away, but the suspects remained at large. No description was available. Detectives said they believe the men know each other.

The Washington County Inter-Agency Gang Enforcement Team was investigating.
