PORTLAND-- Portland International Airport has been named one of the top spots to stop at if you are a traveling beer snob.

Lifestyle website the Thrillist ranked PDX number 5 in its top 8 airports with the best beer. Thrillist, a website made up almost completely of listicles (look out Buzzfeed), ranked airports based on how much good, locally crafted beer was available at terminal restaurants and bars.

Tips included Tampa International's Cigar City Brewing, the only on-site airport brewpub in the nation, Boston's Logan Airport, where you can get a Harpoon Leviathan IPA with 10% alcohol and Minneapolis/St Paul International's beer-themed gift shop.

The site had this to say about PDX:

Portland s go local philosophy extends to the airport, where two outposts of the Laurelwood Public House and Brewery ([terminal] A and E) serve drafts like Red Range Ale , Space Stout , and Organic Tree Hugger Porter. In [terminal] D, the popular Rogue Ales Public House pours 11 styles of their cask-conditioned ales, unpasteurized suds, and experimental West Coast creations.

The Thrillist suggests pairing Portland airport beers with a Voodoo doughnut.

San Diego International Airport ranked No. 1, with no less than 12 restaurants featuring local beer.

So the next time you travel, remember to take advantage of our local Beerport. Maybe you'll get buzzed enough for forget that so many airlines are shrinking seats and cutting back on frills. But hey, it's still better than a flying bar stool. Then again, at PDX maybe that wouldn t be a bad thing.
