PORTLAND Portland libraries are once again going to be open on Mondays.

Last week, the Multnomah County Library District Board met on the new budget after a new funding system was voted on by Portlanders last year.

The board decided to restore Monday service and hours that were reduced in 2012 at all 19 libraries. That should take place on July 1.

The budget and proposed new schedule were set to be finalized on June 6.

Six libraries will be open Sunday mornings and all libraries will be open later in the evenings, Tuesdays through Saturdays.
